Diploma in Digital Illustration
Academy of San Carlos, UNAM
Final Project As part of the curriculum of the Digital Illustration diploma of the Academy of San Carlos, it was proposed that the final project was the realization of an animation, which included the techniques and methodologies seen throughout the course.

In this way, being the free theme, I developed the “pilot” episode of a personal project that I planned to develop, when the opportunity presented itself. The animation takes as inspiration the character of Major Tom, present in the music of David Bowie, as well as the “Retrofuturism” of the 50’s. The concept of the project takes all these elements of culture, music and literature, to generate a psychedelic and nostalgic conglomerate. Quite an ode to those things I like.

Visual Identity Proposal (2015 – 2017)
To position the brand among its audience, through animations, logo and POP material.

In 2015, Blue Labs, in partnership with Publifón, launched the ApantallaNet platform, having found a niche in the market in restaurant advertising through digital signage.

Between 2015 and 2017, a series of graphic materials were developed ranging from the development of visual identity, business cards, flyers, to the design and creation of stands for advertising fairs and the development of programmable content, transmitted through the platform itself.

Being the Digital Signage an advertising service little known in Mexico, ApantallaNet sought to position itself as a market leader. Therefore, the visual proposal was to tie the ApantallaNet service, with the most popular streaming systems on the market, giving it an appearance similar to that of a modern television channel and a little transgressive. This visual proposal has achieved the growth of the brand as well as its positioning in the market.

My participation in the project was to collaborate in the development of the brand, as well as in the design of its Visual Identity, according to the needs of the client. As well as the planning, design, layout and illustration of different graphic materials such as brochures, business cards, web sites and platforms and various POP materials. In addition, he supervised, as Art Director, the production of various audiovisual content such as curtains, advertiser spots and advertising, as in the project Know ApantallaNet. The production and management of the project was by the Blue Labs team.

Oh Güey!
Project developed to promote the art toy Xico, character created by Cristina Pineda
Illustration development and art direction

Together with the Blue Labs team, the audiovisual content and sculptural piece was developed for the Mexican clothing and accessories brand ¡Ay Güey!

The project involved a projection on a sculptural piece of meter and a half high by Xico, a character created by Cristina Pineda, whose accessories and art toys are sold and distributed by ¡Ay Güey!. In this way, 5 minutes of animated content were generated, which were projected on a three-dimensional piece of paper, which had the shape of the character seen in profile. Therefore, the audiovisual contents, the paper model were developed and the installation of videomapping was carried out in a branch of ¡Ay Güey! .

My participation in the project was that of art direction in the area of design, the elaboration of the illustrated parts of the projection and as well as the management and production of the three-dimensional piece used.

The production and management of the project was by Blue Labs.

France is in the Air
for the presentation of a new route and introduction of the A380 model
The integral development of the project consisted of a piece of about 5 meters. long by almost 3 high, animations, the piece to scale, the assembly in the event and the subsequent projection of the contents.

In 2015 a Videomapping was developed for the France is in the Air campaign of the Air France airline. The projection of the content was during a press conference in the CDMX in which the brand announced its new direct route Paris – CDMX, and in which they would introduce their A380 aircraft model for the first time in Mexico. My participation in the project was that of art direction in the area of design, the elaboration of the illustrated parts of the projection and as well as the management and production of the three-dimensional piece used. The production and management of the project was by Blue Labs Creative Studio.

Digital Illustration Practice
Personal project

How dizzying daily life can sometimes be does not allow, on many occasions, the opportunity to practice and study to learn new techniques and working methods.

In this sense, my professional experience has always led me to the development of vector illustrations, for both web design and animation projects, leaving aside other techniques more suitable for other types of products. Therefore, I made this illustration using a style closer to digital painting, with the intention of practicing this type of image development and to acquire more practice with the digitizing tablet.

I chose the character particularly because, in addition to being a professional in illustration, I am also a fan of animated series and movies. It has always been important for me not to lose this spirit, because my vocation as a designer is accompanied by my own way of being, as well as what defines me as a person. So, as in The Knights of the Zodiac, we must “elevate the cosmos” in this adventure that is life.

To illustrate an anthology of 52 cards
In collaboration with the most outstanding students of the FES
Traditional illustration The project consisted of illustrating and designing the 52 cards of the deck. I was assigned then, the design of one of the Joker cards of the deck and its concept was related to the “The fool” card of the tarot, as well as elements of Pop culture. However, due to lack of resources for printing, the deck did not see the light. [/vc_column_text]

Annually the call comes out to design the cover for the Ilustracional edition of picnic magazine. In 2013, the theme was Geeks. My solution was to consider this group as an important part of pop culture, in this way, this piece emerged that exalts the pride of being Geek, in addition to showing the different facets of this social group.
